After achieving the milestone of Digital Bangladesh, a new journey has been started towards a Smart Bangladesh. To go with this aspiration, we need to play an important role and this journey for us can be started from our university campus. This new goal what we call is Smart Campus. We focus on a daily challenge related to our university transportation system.

Lots of vehicles go in and out, to and from our Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) campus. Unfortunately, no register has been maintained to keep records of those vehicles. We propose a machine learning-based license plate detection and recognition system to identify the vehicles’ license number and keep their entrance and exit time in a database. The system will capture the image of incoming or outgoing vehicles and will use computer vision and machine learning to identify its license number. It will provide an extra safety to our university campus. The system will allow to register our common vehicles in the system so that we can identify any unknown vehicle easily. Furthermore, this information can be used if we want to apply parking fee in future.
